Okay look - I'm not one for really understanding the world - so I may not have all my facts and figures straight...

But from what I understand this sucks...

So for my understanding - Big Brother is going to take more control over the internet to ensure copy right infringements.... So - no more Youtube uploads, no more referring to other sites when you write something, no mentioning anything anywhere about anyone just in case you say something wrong... geez! Blogs are gonna be b-o-r-i-n-g!

Seem's kinda harsh - Okay - I can understand the whole movie and music issue - I mean I myself am dying to download an uncut version of Breaking Dawn Part I (thanks GCC Censureship!- NOT!)

But seriously - just think....
That picture above and those two links - could mean I could end up in jail as copy right infringement... This could mean the end to blogging as we know it.... and I cant have that... where else would I pick up my news and random bits of useless information... It's not that I care about this for my own blog per se - who reads me anyway!:)

And to top it all off - I have an assignment to do today and my brain is offline... Curse you SOPA!!! I need WIKI!!!! :)

By Jove - They've done it again!

Morning!
Long time no see :)

Ask any South African which company has the best Marketing and Advert team behind them, giving them awesome up to date, controversial, in your face advertising... and the answer is gonna be South Africa's World Famous Resturant Nando's! (That's right - Nando's originated from South Africa - go on Wiki it if you don't believe me - I'll wait!) While I wait for you - I'll just ramble on about why Spur couldn't have been the restaurant to make it famous out in the wide world- I would kill for a Rib Burger, John Lee Special and a Chico the Clown right about now!

Anyhoo - Nando's SA have always had the best marketing and advertising campaigns in South Africa - quickly taking some news event or controversial topic and turning it into a memorable advert - remember the whole Joost Campaign?

Well in my humble opinion they've done it again - okay so this could be a couple of months old - but hey I no longer have the privilege of watching any SA's Adverts any more - never realised I would miss them so much!

But before I can get to the Nando's advert I'm referring to I have to take a detour... :)

Recently on News24 - there was an article about a South African Comedian, Trevor Noah, who had appeared on Jay Leno - if you have time to get sucked into the vortex that is Youtube - do yourself a favour and watch a couple of his videos' - he's good - but I better warn you - he might only be funny to me - what with me being a Saffer n all, that coupled with my weird sense of humour!

So there I was getting sucked into the vortex of Youtube - when I came across an Advert campaign Trevor Noah did for the 3rd Cellphone company in SA - Cell C (very original name!) Here's the first advert - there are more in the campaign - feel free to Youtube them - but let me warn you - you might get sucked into the vortex and before you know it hours have passed and you still watching youtube video's!



Very soon Trevor Noah and the Cell C Advert Campaign became quite talked about in South Africa - you either hated them or liked them - but what is all important in any Marketing it's the TALKING... yes people where talking Cell C!

And if there's one thing Nando's don't like it's when other Company's get talked about :) (joking - I mean how would I know I don't work for their marketing company!)

But it's kinda true - Nando's needed to get back to being the best adverts around - so what did they do - they pulled out all the stops - they produced this one....



You see what they did there????

That's right - they took one of the most talked about adverts - made a funny rip off of it and BOOM!

Back to being the Advert King of South Africa....

Man I do miss the Nando's adverts.... Unfortunately I can't say I miss Nando's itself - they have cropped up everywhere - even in a country that's Peri Peri Hot ;)

'Series'ly' Addicated...

*stands up*
Hi - my name is Gatvol - and I'm an addict! :)

Seeing as I haven't had an original thought of my own for a while - you see my boss has sucked the life out of my brains and refuses to allow me to think in any way or form - but I digress - I thought I would bore you to death with my addiction that I have managed to pick up since I've been here in Oman...

*drum roll please*

TV Series...

Yip - I admit I am 115% addicted to TV series - and I watch them in order - wiki episodes and seasons to make sure I have them all - and I EVEN have a booklet with the name, number of seasons and episodes listed - clearly marked if I have seen them or if I still need to see them - and if I still need to get the episode to watch it - its the OCD in me kicking in...

In order to maintain my stress levels - which have been going through the roof here - I have funneled all my coping mechanisms (ie OCD) into my compulsion of TV series - I'm becoming an expert (in my own little world!)

So - in no particular order - this is what I am / have been addicted too:-

* Two and Half Men - Thank goodness this is now cancelled
* How I met your mother - it's Legend... wait for it.... DARY
* Psych - Gus reminds me of me!
* Chuck - Cant wait for next season! Morgan's the man!
* Lie to me - bleh
* Supernatural - TEAM DEAN!!! :) Season 6 is starting to loose the plot tho'
* Weeds - I still need to watch the last season - can a woman be that pathetic?
* Brothers and Sisters - am starting to get bored of it will see if I will watch next seasons
* Ghost Whisperer - first few season were good - but didn't enjoy the last one
* Grey's Anatomy - I love this show - it makes me cry all the time! and I loved this seasons cliff hangers
* Glee - Another show I just love :) Esp. their Thriller episode
* Bones - easy watching although I wish I was that intelligent! Am disappointed in the way this season ended... they totally glossed over Bones and Booths relationship! OH and I cant wait for the spin off The Finders - looks good!
* Army Wives - I can relate to this one!
* Boston Legal - :) Denny, Denny Crane - I intend to watch this one all over again!
* Mentalist - bleh - so glad Red John is dead - can life continue now?
* Tudors - All I can say is JRM... drool drool - oh and the History Lesson was good too!
* 90210 - I love these teenager feel good series... (pathetic I know)
* House - Mr Sarcasm himself... I bow down to the master
* CSI - got to catch up from when Grissom left 3 seasons worth
* CSI - Miami - H just RUINS this show for me - I am leaving the last 3 seasons as a 'I have nothing to watch summer holidays show'
* CSI - New York - Love the music on this show!
* SCRUBS - My all time fav - and if you don't like it - I have 2 thumbs!
* ER - I'm sure I've missed some - it's such a long playing show - so I am going to watch them all over again!

I started off typing up a little 'blurb' about each one - but this post became really long and really boring - so I removed that! So count yourself lucky that I haven't bored you half to death!

Indeed - I hide in shame... this is disgusting... Have I really been this lazy??
Oh I have loads of excuses as to why I haven't blogged for a while - but lets not go into them now :) Dont want to bore you straight of the bat... :)



I'm ashamed to admit I had to post myself a comment this evening just so I could figure out where the sign in page was... that's pathetic... I know.... I had also been considering just abandoning this blog and starting afresh... but I couldn't do that.... I like my little kitty picture ;)


What I will say is I have my own laptop again now - so in theory I should get more internet time to be able to start blogging again......

Was driving down the road the other day when I spotted this....

Besides the fact that I nearly slammed into the car next to me because I was laughing so hard I couldn't control the steering wheel, do you know how many times I had to circle around to get this picture???? Seriously every time I go passed this Office Block I get a major case of the giggles....

Wonder if I would qualify for a job???? I am a mother after all! :)
